Pigs in Blankets cooked in Cast Iron

Pigs in blankets is a festive staple, not to mention a truly indulgent treat. Perfect served on sticks for hungry party guests, as a side to your big family feast, or served atop a delicious Ooni pizza! When there’s chaos in the kitchen, cook these cast-iron piglets with ease in your Ooni pizza oven.

Ooni Cast Iron Pan

12 mini sausages
6 rashers streaky bacon, cut in half
Cranberry sauce, for dipping

Fire up your Ooni pizza oven. Aim for 662˚F (350˚C) on the stone baking board inside. You can check the temperature inside your Ooni quickly and easily using the Ooni Infrared Thermometer.

Place your cast iron sizzler or skillet pan inside the oven to warm up. 

Wrap half a rasher of streaky bacon around each mini sausage, keeping the top and bottom of the sausage exposed. Repeat this step for all 12 sausages.

Remove your preheated pan and add your sausage and bacon wraps. Return the pan to the oven and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the sausage and bacon begins to brown. Flip the sausages over and cook for a further 3-4 minutes until brown and crispy on both sides, and fully cooked through the middle.
