Makes one 12-inch pizza
For the steak
Salt & pepper
7oz (200g) steak (makes enough for 4-5 pizzas)
For the pizza
5.6oz (160g) Classic Pizza Dough ball (see note below)
1 tbsp melted butter
4 tbsp American mustard
1.4oz (40g) mozzarella, torn into small pieces
1oz (20g) Swiss cheese, torn into small pieces
1.4oz (40g) cooked steak, finely sliced
1oz (20g) black forest ham, finely sliced
1oz (20g) dill pickles, finely sliced
Prepare your pizza dough ahead of time. To make a 12" pizza, we recommend preparing pizza dough balls that are 5.6oz (160g) each – our guide to making the perfect Classic Pizza Dough covers everything you need to know.
Fire up your Ooni 3, Ooni Pro or Ooni Koda. Aim for 572˚F (300˚C) on the stone baking board inside. You can check the temperature inside your oven quickly and easily using the Ooni Infrared Thermometer.
Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Add a little olive oil to your Sizzler Pan or Grizzler Pan and place inside your Ooni to warm up. Once warm, place the steak in the pan and return to the oven to cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the steak is caramelized on one side. Flip the steak over and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes. Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak, cover with aluminium foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Once rested, slice the steak into fine strips.
Increase the heat of your Ooni pizza oven, aiming for 932˚F (500˚C) on the stone baking board inside.
Using a small amount of flour, dust your Ooni pizza peel. Stretch the pizza dough ball out to 12 inches and lay it out on your pizza peel. Brush the melted butter over the base, then spread the mustard over the top. Top it off with the sliced steak, mozzarella, Swiss cheese, ham and pickles.
Slide the pizza off the peel and into your Ooni pizza oven, making sure to rotate the pizza regularly.
Once cooked, remove the pizza from the oven and serve right away.
